Lavender Simple Syrup

Made with sugar and culinary dried lavender flowers, this lavender simple syrup adds flavor to tea and coffee, moistens cakes, and makes fragrant, floral-inspired cocktails.

Ingredients

220 milliliters water (1 cup)
3 tablespoons culinary grade dried lavender flowers
300 grams granulated sugar (1 1/2 cups)

Instructions

In a small saucepan, combine the water and dried lavender.

Bring to a boil, then stir in the granulated sugar and allow it to dissolve.

Simmer mixture over low heat for 10 minutes. Do not boil.

Remove saucepan from heat. Cover and allow to steep for one hour, or until completely cool.

Use a fine mesh strainer to remove the dried lavender.

Use as desired. Store leftover lavender simple syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three weeks.
