Recipe by becky
A simple blackberry compote recipe made with fresh or frozen blackberries, granulated sugar, and lime.
250 grams fresh or frozen blackberries (9 ounces; about 2 cups)
38 grams granulated sugar (3 tablespoons)
15 milliliters water (1 tablespoon)
15 milliliters lime juice (1 tablespoon)
4 grams lime zest (2 teaspoons, packed)
In a small saucepan, stir together blackberries, granulated sugar, and water.

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until berries begin to break down and sauce thickens, about 15-20 minutes.

Remove from heat. Stir in the lime juice and lime zest.

Scoop into a bowl. Serve warm, or refrigerate until ready to serve. Compote will continue to thicken as it cools.

Store leftover blackberry compote in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
