Description

An easy gummy recipe bear for rainbow gummy candies. These DIY gummy bears with Jello are perfect for celebrating Pride month.

Ingredients

Scale

6 3-oz packages Jello (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, in flavors of your choice)
6 .25-oz packages unflavored gelatin
2 cups cold water
Nonstick cooking spray (or olive oil)

Instructions

Prepare gummy bear mold by spraying with a thin layer of nonstick cooking spray or olive oil. Set aside.

Open your package of red Jello. In a small microwave-safe mixing bowl, combine red Jello powder with one .25-oz package of unflavored gelatin. Stir in 1/3 cup cold water. Allow mixture to sit at room temperature for 8-10 minutes before proceeding to the next step.

Microwave Jello mixture on high for 30 seconds. Stir, then microwave for 15 seconds more.

Use an eye dropper to drop Jello mixture into gummy bear molds. Transfer molds to refrigerator and allow bears to chill for 15-20 minutes.

Once bears have chilled, remove molds from fridge. Gently pop bears from silicone mold onto a sheet of wax paper.

Repeat the steps above with your orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple flavors. Once I got a system going, I realized that I could chill one tray of bears while preparing the next.

Store gummy bears in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.

Notes

Feel free to choose the Jello flavors you enjoy most. I used strawberry (red), peach (orange), pineapple (yellow), lime (green), berry blue (blue), and grape (purple).

If you’re short on time, it will be helpful to have lots of silicone gummy bear molds. I only had two molds, so making six colors took a long time. If I make this recipe again, and want to do a wide variety of colors, I’ll definitely purchase another set of molds to speed things along.
