Made with cream cheese, confectioner’s sugar, and freeze dried strawberries, this easy strawberry fruit dip recipe is perfect for dunking marshmallows, pretzels, cookies, or sliced fresh fruit.
Why Make This Strawberry Fruit Dip Recipe?
Made with just six ingredients, this strawberry fruit dip recipe offers a sweet alternative to savory veggie dips like Greek yogurt dip or spicy sriracha dip (although I love those, too!) This fruit dip is both versatile and easy to make, and will add a pop of pink to any fruit platter.
Serve strawberry fruit dip at brunches, picnics, parties, or family gatherings alongside sliced fresh fruit like apples, pineapples, kiwi, bananas, mangoes, and pears. Whole grapes, strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries also pair nicely with this cream cheese-based dip. And be sure to save the leftovers—I also enjoy keeping a container of fruit dip in the fridge for a healthyish afternoon snack.
Ingredients for Making Strawberry Fruit Dip
To make this strawberry fruit dip recipe, start by gathering the following ingredients:
Full fat cream cheese – Not the spreadable kind, and not low fat or diet cream cheese. I tested this recipe with the UK version of Philadelphia cream cheese. Softening the cheese for a few minutes makes it easier to whip.
Confectioner’s sugar – Also known as icing sugar, or powdered sugar. You can use slightly more or less to adjust the sweetness of your fruit dip as desired.
Whole milk – Or, substitute cream, or your favorite plant milk. If the fruit dip feels too thick, add a splash more milk until it reaches your preferred consistency.
Freeze-dried strawberries – Freeze-dried fruit adds a bold, tart strawberry flavor. I used freeze-dried strawberry pieces, but strawberry powder will also work. I don’t recommend using whole freeze-dried strawberries in this recipe, as these can become chewy as they absorb moisture from the cream cheese.
Strawberry flavoring – My go-to is LorAnn Oils strawberry flavoring, but any brand of flavoring or extract will work. You can also omit the flavoring, or replace it with vanilla bean paste.
Pink gel food coloring – Optional, but gives the dip a brighter pink color. I used Neon Brite Pink by Chefmaster.
What to Serve with Strawberry Fruit Dip
- Pretzels, pretzel rods, or pretzel crisps
- Graham crackers, digestive biscuits, animal crackers, or vanilla wafers
- Whole grapes or berries (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries)
- Sliced fresh fruit (bananas, apples, mangoes, pineapple, kiwi)
- Jumbo marshmallows, or homemade strawberry marshmallows or vanilla marshmallows
Make-Ahead and Storage Suggestions
This strawberry dip is fluffiest and freshest on the day it’s made. It only takes a few minutes to make, so I suggest whipping up your dip just prior to serving. However, you can store the leftovers in the refrigerator for an additional 3-4 days. Leftover strawberry dip is great for snacking!
