I made a gingerbread pub to celebrate the holiday season! I modeled my design on the many pretty pubs found around London.
This is the first time I’ve attempted something this complex. It most definitely isn’t perfect. But it was a great opportunity to work on the royal piping skills I’ve been learning in pastry school at Le Cordon Bleu (and will need to use during the Superior term!) And I have to say, I am pretty happy with the results!
In the past I’ve used a pre-made gingerbread kit to make gingerbread houses. (I think this is a good option if you’re working with children!) For my gingerbread pub, I made all of my gingerbread from scratch. It really isn’t difficult, and it will make your kitchen smell amazing.
First, I baked up lots and lots of gingerbread dough….
